What they built
Aadi Kulkarni founded TechPals in 2022 — a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit that trains youth volunteers to teach digital literacy skills to senior citizens. Starting at age 12–13 by simply visiting local libraries and retirement homes with friends, he formalised the effort into an award-winning organisation that now has 650+ volunteers and 45 chapters across 30 U.S. states and 7 countries, having helped over 5,900 seniors learn skills like online banking, video calls, and scam recognition. TechPals directly addresses the digital divide that leaves older adults isolated and unable to access essential services in an increasingly online world.
