Studied the protein citrin as a therapeutic target for cancer treatment. Used AI-powered AlphaFold to model the citrin protein's 3D structure, identified existing drugs that target it, and knocked out the citrin gene in colon cancer cells to deplete them of an essential nutrient. Analysis of public cancer patient databases confirmed citrin gene changes were linked to better cancer survival outcomes. Now at Yale University.
