Aniket Sarkar

One of the youngest 2025 national finalists in the 3M Young Scientist Challenge (7th grade, age 13) — listed by 3M and Young Scientist Lab. [estimated superlative — flag for verification]

What they built

Aniket designed a low-cost atmospheric moisture capturing system that pulls water from dry air to help farmers grow crops in increasingly arid regions of the American Midwest and West. The system uses moisture-absorbing materials to harvest water from the atmosphere without electricity or expensive infrastructure, directly addressing agricultural water scarcity. He developed the invention independently and was selected as a Top 10 national finalist in the 2025 3M Young Scientist Challenge.
